Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Rocky Stone has never been a stranger to eye care and everything it entails. Rocky began working in not one but two separate optical shops during his junior high days. It wasn't long before he found himself working for Wallace B. Owens at Berry Optical in 1985. Within five years of employment, Rocky partnered with Dr. Daniel Cunningham and bought the company from Mr. Owens. 

Since then, Rocky has become the sole owner of Berry Optical and recognizes his success due to the learning and working alongside senior opticians such as Mervin Sunday, Wallace Owens, Lou Gazzini, George Hamett, and L.C. Greene. Rocky maintained such a good relationship with them, that they all stepped out of retirement to work for Rocky at Berry Optical.

Rocky now lives in Titus, Alabama, and has brought on his daughter, Jessica Stone, to herald in the next generation of eye care for Montgomery!

Dr. Daniel L Cunningham has been practicing Optometry in Montgomery for 40 years. He and his partner Rocky Stone own and operate their solo practice Berry Optical. Dr. Cunningham grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Northern Iowa. He attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where he worked in several Optometric offices. While at ICO he was the contact lens department's senior intern where he oversaw students' contact lens fittings. He graduated in 1983 and was awarded an outstanding achievement award by Bausch and Lomb as the contact lens "man of the year".

Dr. Cunningham is a member in good standing of the American Optometric Association for 32 years. He specializes in contact lens fitting, glaucoma, and co-management of ocular diseases. He resides in Montgomery with his wife of 42 years and 2 daughters.
